Chapter Eight

After Mia learned that she received an A on the quiz, she thinks, "I'm so proud of myself that I forgot to be ashamed."  Discuss the dual meaning of this idea.

  1. I think that she was so excited that she wouldn't have to go to summer school and just that she got a big, beautiful sunflower-yellow "A" that she forgot that she cheated on the test.

  2. I think she was so happy and proud that she finally got an A in math, that she forgot that she had cheated so she wouldn't have to go to summer school if she kept this up.

I agree with Nick about being excited that she got out of having to go to summer school but as i said in the other question i wouldn't really call it cheating but i somewhat agree too that she should be ashamed a little bit because she used her special abilities to help herself in a way that excused her from summer shcool.

  4. I think she was happy that she finally got the "A" and that she was so happy that she got the "A" that she forgot to be ashamed that she cheated.

  5. I think that because she has been hoping for an A on her test for so long, and she finally got it, she forgot to be ashamed of herself for cheating because its bad. But the happiness she was feeling took over her other feelings.
