Chapter Nine
When Mia's friendship bracelet gets snagged on the door latch, thereby ripping a thread, is this somehow symbolic of her relationship with Jenna?
I think it is, but I don't think that Mia saw it that way. I think it is because her friendship with Jenna is growing less and less strong, just like the bracelet, and getting snagged on certain things like Mia not telling Jenna about her synesthesia for so long and thats exactly what is happening to the bracelet. I don't think that Mia recognized that it might have been symbolic, but I DEFINATELY think it is that way. It also is symbolic because Mia said that she tried to tuck the snag under so Jenna wouldn't notice and that's what they've been doing with the fights they've been having.
Yes because Mia and Jenna's friendship is like that bracelet, when they have a fight the thread tears but when they make up the thread is sewn together again.
Maybe because, like Matt said, it is like their friendship. And it is sort of tearing apart. Or maybe it shows that Mia is being careless and isn't going slow to even think of her bracelet to brake on the door.
I agree 100%. I think that the bracket is just like their friendship. It is tearing apart. Just as a prediction though, I think some event in the book will make them come close like they used to be.
