Chapter Four

So far, everyone who knows about Mia's condition (except Jenna) thinks that Mia needs to be "cured."  How do you feel about this?

  1. The only reason I think that they think that is because they don't know that it isn't a condition that needs to be cured.(Well I'm not positive that it may or may not need to be cured.) Also if Mia were to be a family member of mine, I think that I would be scared that they saw something or heard something very differently than I did. I think I would want to experience what Mia would be going through and how she has to live her life because of it.

  2. I don't agree with them, because I think when they say "cured," they are saying it like she has some disease or sometihng wrong with her. I don't think they are saying this to be hurtful or anyting, it's just that they don't know anything about Mia's condition. I think that they don't want her to worry about it, and are trying to put it in the nicest wat possible, but it's not sounding like that to Mia, because she thinks that they are saying she's crazy and has something wrong with her.

  3. I agree with Shannon. I dont think they meant for it to be cured like a disease, but to, like, help her be able to do better with some of the things that she is struggling with, like, pre-algebra and Spanish. Its not like they are trying to be mean to Mia by saying that she has a disease, but her parents, for example, are worried about her and her synesthesia so they really dont know what to do. And another reason that they SHOULD be worried is because she just had recently got two F's.

  4. I think that Mia kind of knows that there isn't a cure and that she has learned to live with it and hide it for so long she has kind of given up on finding a cure and hoping for one.

  5. I think that everyone doesn't know what this is and thinks it can and needs to be cured.
