Bree 4
Why do you think Bree sort of jumped out of character to help Pete?
I think she did it because as the story goes on, she is realizing how good she has it, and becoming more sympathetic to others. One thing i noticed was that after she comforted Pete, she ran off before anyone could see.
I agree, she is growing into a new person, I think, because she has the knowledge of moving here. And I think even though she and All are making a plan she probably knows it wont work deep down. So she's changing into a new person and leaving the old behind, sort of like a snake shedding its own skin!
I agree with Alex. I think she knows the plan wont work so instead of sitting around upset about living at the campground, she i taking this chance to become a new person. I think she will like the Moon Shadow if their plan does not work.
I think that she is starting to feel that her future is at Moon Shadow and she is realizing that her old personality is nasty and mean but now her new personality is starting to develop.
I guess I'm having a hard time seeing Bree doing that kind of self-reflection and consciously making changes to adapt and change. Is there anything else that makes you believe that this is really what's happening?
Well, I think she did it because SHE realized that she jumped out of character and told herself "Wait, what am I doing?" and thought about who she really thinks she is and that made her kinda embarrassed so she ran off.
I'm not really sure i don't totally agree with Matt but i think that she wanted to be with Pete and thinking that it was Melanie because every night Bree wakes up has to find Melanie and the comforts her so i think she was doing that to Pete but then ran off because she didn't want people to see that she is that vulnerable. (To help people.)

ReplyDeleteI think that deep down she is a comforting person, but she does not want to admit it to herself or anyone else.
ReplyDeleteI'm not really sure either, mabey she is just becoming a better person and she is realizing that she can't keep on being mean to people.
